This document is organized as follows: 1 Features Supported 2 Features Not Supported in this Release 3 Known Issues and Limitations 1 Features Supported ===================== The following features are supported in the HP OpenVMS V8.4 System Management using Insight Software V6.0: - Insight Virtualization Manager software - Insight Capacity Advisor software - Insight Global Workload manager software - Insight Control Power Manager - HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) 2 Features Not Supported in this Release ========================================= The following features are not supported in the HP OpenVMS V8.4 System Management using Insight Software V6.0: - Logical server operations, Insight Orchestration software and Insight Recovery software. - Integrity Virtual Machines Manager for OpenVMS V8.4 HPVM guests - gWLM support for GiCAP on OpenVMS. - gWLM support for Conditional Policy and Process Map on OpenVMS. - Troubleshooting VSE management for OpenVMS Managed Nodes. - Configuration of VSE agents for OpenVMS managed nodes. - Import of Capacity Advisor Data from OVPA for OpenVMS Managed nodes. 3 Known Issues and Limitations =============================== The following are the restrictions and known issues in HP OpenVMS V8.4 System Management using Insight Software V6.0: - Utilization Data not Available for OpenVMS Sub-OS Workloads The OpenVMS Utilization WBEM provider supports collecting utilization data only for OpenVMS whole-OS workloads. It does not support sub-OS (monitored and managed) workloads under OpenVMS. This has the following impact on ID-VSE: 0 Virtualization Manager and Capacity Advisor display utilization data for whole-OS workloads only. 0 Utilization data from sub-OS workloads running under OpenVMS cannot be used for capacity planning in Capacity Advisor. - OpenVMS Instances not Reported in Capacity Advisor Scenario Comparison Report When a scenario comparison report is generated using Capacity Advisor for scenarios with OpenVMS systems, the resulting report does not include information on number of OpenVMS systems present in each scenario. - HP SIM Reports Errors During OpenVMS Alpha System Discovery During HP SIM discovery of an OpenVMS Alpha managed node, HP SIM V6.0 reports a critical error indicating the managed node does not have WBEM support. The discovery also reports a major error that the model, serial number or UUID is not available for the managed node. However, OpenVMS Alpha System is discovered inspite of the reported errors. - Delay in Display of SNMP Traps From OpenVMS Managed Node HP SIM V6.0 may report SNMP traps generated from an OpenVMS system after a finite delay. - "Symbol Errors" Column Shown Empty Without any Data In HP SIM, while viewing the Instance properties for Network in the 'Configuration' tab, the "Symbol Errors" column is shown empty with no data. Also, there is one column shown with no title. - Incorrect display of "Current Time Zone" In HP SIM, while viewing the Instance properties, the "Current Time Zone" is displayed incorrectly in the Identity section. The correct time zone information is shown as part of the "Last Boot Up Time" property in the same section. - Improper display format for "Create Date" In HP SIM, under the Instance properties in the 'Status' tab, the "Create Date" for OpenVMS Process Information is displayed in the following format: yyyymmddhhmmss. - Capacity Advisor Limitation With an OpenVMS System Running gWLM Workloads OpenVMS system running gWLM managed workloads cannot be used in Capacity Advisor scenarios for planning purposes. This occurs due to OpenVMS WBEM Utilization Provider not having support for sub-OS workloads. This limitation will be addressed in a future release.
