statement of direction - Oracle9iAS for OpenVMS - October 2002

overview

Oracle has a long and successful history of delivering enterprise solutions to the OpenVMS marketplace for more than 20 years, first with Digital Equipment Corporation, Compaq, and now HP. Oracle's RDBMS core products are available and will continue to be ported to OpenVMS. Oracle recognizes that many OpenVMS customer's applications rely on Application Server technology. As such, Oracle is offering a multi-tier solution for our OpenVMS customers; including Oracle RDBMS support on OpenVMS with Oracle9iAS deployment on a variety of platforms; including HP-UX, Linux, Tru64 UNIX, and Windows 2000. These multi-tier implementations have been fully regressed and tested within Oracle development.

configuration

The standard set of Oracle regressions were performed on the multi-tier testing performed between the weeks of August 15, 2002 through September 17, 2002 within the Platform Technologies Division at Oracle. Here is the configuration used for the Tru64 UNIX testing. The configuration consisted of Oracle 9.0.1.3 RDBMS running on a OpenVMS 7.2.2, and Oracle9iAS 9.0.2 running on a Tru64 UNIX v5.1patchkit 2.
