VMove

Integrity server certified
AlphaServer system ready

VMove is a tool that enables reading and writing DOS-formatted media such as MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows floppy disks, hard disks, magneto-optical, zip, and CD-Roms on OpenVMS systems. It works with almost any storage peripheral that has a small computer system interface (SCSI). For text files, VMove automatically translates special characters such as umlauts or format characters to adapt them to the characteristics of the respective operating systems.

Key features:

  • Stable, user-friendly, and reliable
  • Easy installation
  • DCL interface (DCL is a scripting language used in OpenVMS environments)

HP OpenVMS Integrity and AlphaServer systems boast outstanding performance, scalability, and manageability, making them ideal platforms for enterprise-scale IT infrastructures. VMove enhances the ability of organizations to integrate OpenVMS systems into environments that depend on MS-DOS and Windows workstations by allowing data to be interchanged between systems on mass storage media.

GNU-C++

GNU-Fortran

AlphaServer system ready

GNU-C++ and GNU-Fortran are implementations of two of the most common languages used to program business computing applications. These products serve a large community of software engineers because they are based on the popular, free software GNU tool chain. Free software distributions are available, in addition to fully supported commercial versions.

By supporting GNU versions of these pervasive programming languages, OpenVMS systems are opened up to a wider audience of software developers and users. With these products, the OpenVMS benefits of stability, reliability, and scalability become accessible to a larger market, growing the satisfied OpenVMS user base.

  • VMSTAR—produces UNIX-compatible save sets to create archives that can be read on UNIX systems
  • FILE—repairs files with RMS structures that were damaged during remote transmission
  • SWING—manages files in a manner similar to the familiar MS-DOS tools XTree and PCTOOLS

HP OpenVMS AlphaServer systems continue to be a premier business IT platform because of their reputation for extraordinary stability and reliability.
