Michael Feinberg
Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), StorageWorks Division
Hewlett-Packard Company

Michael Feinberg is VP and CTO of HP's StorageWorks Division organization. He is responsible for developing and evolving the group's technology roadmap, as well as overseeing the application of emerging technologies into the company's storage solutions. Feinberg's role also encompasses the worldwide promotion and adoption of the StorageWorks Division vision and the translation of customer requirements, industry trends and business objectives into long-term investment strategy.

A technology industry veteran, Feinberg brings to his position both hands-on IT knowledge and experienced leadership. Before joining HP, Feinberg served as the CTO of StorageApps, Inc, a privately-held storage virtualization company acquired by HP in September, 2001. In his previous position as vice president and head of global UNIX engineering for Morgan Stanley, Feinberg was responsible for all strategic decisions regarding the company's storage technology. In addition, he has held engineering manager and operating system architect positions at IBM, and his early years were spent as an operating system engineer with Data General.

Feinberg has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a master's degree in Computer Science from Cornell University.
