third-party Exabyte SCSI device integration help?

» close window

The Question is:

Is EXB-8200 (Exabyte tape) supported by VAX-VMS?

Thanks to the Wizard :-)

The Answer is :

No. OpenVMS Engineering does not generally support third-party drives.
Information on what components are supported by OpenVMS are generally
included in the OpenVMS Software Product Description (SPD).

The TKZ9E is a supported 8mm helical scan drive.

Make certain that the Exabyte drive is running the latest firmware, and
also check for available SCSI device driver ECOs for OpenVMS.

Also, please see various previous discussions of the integration and
testing necessary for support of a SCSI storage device. Please see
"third-party SCSI device integration?" and "SCSI Device Integration
  Help?", as a start.
