problem with TCP/IP (UCX) connectivity?

» close window

The Question is:

Problem with TCP/IP:
We have a VAX VLC that we really don't use... And I was hoping to make it a
"test System."

UCX is installed/and licensed on the machine. However, if I try to
ping/telnet to the machine I get no results. If I ping/telnet out of the
machine... again, no results. I can Ping the machine's own IP address...
and it says it is alive.

From any other node... I can set host to the VLC... so I know the
network(decnet) is working and the card is working.

Any ideas??

The Answer is :

Make sure you are running a recent version of TCP/IP Services for
OpenVMS (UCX) such as V4.1 or V4.2, and any applicable UCX ECOs have
  been applied.

Ensure that the system is correctly configured with the UCX$CONFIG
tool, and that UCX is correctly started up during the site-specific
portion of the system startup procedure.

If problems persist, please contact the customer support center.
