moving OpenVMS VAX images to Alpha?

The Question is:

 
Our school just changed from the VAX to an Alpha server
the problem that a lot of us are having is we need to recompile
the *.exe files that we have.  We don't have or have access to the
*.exe files that we use.  is ther someway to decompile the *.exe files
and then recompile them in the new format?  If so how and what would we need

The Answer is :

 
  The DECmigrate package was the mechanism used to translate various OpenVMS
  VAX images into OpenVMS Alpha images.
 
  There are also disassemblers available (at least one from DECUS) that may
  or may not be suitable.  (Disassembly may or may not be permissible by the
  terms of any software license agreements that may be in place.)
