The Question is:

 
I am trying to remove an extra formfeed that occurs when printing to an LPR
queue. That problem has a documented solution (the file name is:
wiz_1020.html) that works on my 5.5-2 system BUT NOT ON my 5.4-3 system.
 
Q: Is it possible that the feature first appeared around version 5.5 ?

The Answer is :

 
  The queue manager was rewritten for V5.5 -- the older queue manager
  was available with the "A5.5" release number, while the "V5.5" release
  number indicates the newer queue manager.
 
  wiz_1020 covers a number of different alternatives.  Without information
  on the printer, the particular alternative(s) chosen, and the particular
  TCP/IP package and version, determining a solution is difficult at best.
 
  Further, as you are likely well aware, V5.4-3 is a very old release and
  is no longer supported.  Upgrading to the V5.5-2 or V5.5-2H4 release, to
  the V6.2 release, or to the current V7.1 release is highly recommended.
  An upgrade to a more current version of the TCP/IP package should also
