SCSI disk configuration?

» close window

The Question is:

Having just split our cluster of 3 vax and 1 alpha we are now having trouble
getting our 4000-100 vax to see all the scsi disks. If we do a
conversational boot everything is ok. However when we do a normal boot it
cannot see $3$DKA0 what is strange is th
at it can see the other two disks on the same scsi bus. $3$dka100 -200.
What could be causing this problem.

TIA

Frank Carroll

The Answer is :

Check for overlapping SCSI unit numbers across all disks and tapes on
the SCSI bus, the host SCSI controller, and any other SCSI widget(s)
  present on the bus.

Make sure there are no other unit "0" disk devices on any SCSI bus
  configured on the system.

Please contact your local hardware support organization for details.
Expect to be asked about the specific types of SCSI disk and tape
devices involved, about the SCSI termination and about the total
SCSI length, and about any relevent error log entries.
