problems with Win95 FTP library and versions?

The Question is:

 
I am using a 3rd party software that integrates FTP in the program...running
on a Win '95 OS...but when I try to FTP from the server a text file the FTP
program hangs on the file name because of the version number.  If the
version number ":1" is stripped
off (by renaming the file) it works fine.  Is there any way to disable the
file version number from appearing on the file or can you make any other
suggestions???  We really need this to work.

The Answer is :

 
  Please contact the third-party support organization for assistance, as
  it would appear that the Win95 FTP library in use does not allow files
