Minimum OpenVMS system disk capacity?

» close window

The Question is:

What is the smallest disk that can be configured as a system disk on a
VAXstation 4000-90a and is there a list of disks that are supported or
unsupported?
Thanks,
 Roger

The Answer is :

OpenVMS has requirements for the size of the system disk -- OpenVMS
requires a specific size disk or larger, as documented in the OpenVMS
installation and upgrade manual, and (typically) in the OpenVMS Software
Product Description. Please see the current documentation for the
  OpenVMS version of interest.

Specific systems will have thermal, mounting, and other restrictions on
the disks. A few systems have restrictions on the system disk capacity,
though the Wizard is not aware of any system disk capacity limits specific
to any members of the VAXstation 4000 series. The Wizard is not aware of
any hardware capacity minimums on the system disk.
