hooking a modem to an OpenVMS system?

» close window

The Question is:

I have a MicroVAX 3100-30 system loaded with
VMS 5.5. It's a stand alone system, not hooked
up to a network of any kind. I use it as a
development machine. I need to hook up an
external modem to it so some folks can access
it across a telephone line. I have the serial
cable hooked up to the modem and the asychronous
modem port on the back of the VAX. The port is
labeled "2". Beside this port are three MMJ
ports labeled 0,1, and 3. I have the external
modem set up for auto answer. What do I have to
do in the VAX to comlete this connection? How
can I find out how this asychronous port is
labeled in the VMS software? Please help. Thanks
