MicroVAX and VAXstation 3100 system disk limits? (

» close window

The Question is:

In my VAX 3100 i try to connect a RZ29 with
VMS 6.2.
The disk dont boot work, but in the 3500 work fine.
(The 3500 is with a Emulex SCSI).
I need a boot disk for the 3100. I read in the faq over a PROM upgrade, but
the local DEC reseller dont know this.
Is the patch on the internet?
Tanks.

The Answer is :

This is one of the cases where abbreviating the system name makes it
impossible to answer the question -- there are several quite different
systems in the "3100" series, with different limitations and different
  requirements.

Please see "MicroVAX and VAXstation 3100 system disk limits?" here
in Ask The Wizard for a previous discussion -- the discussion covers
the three different groupings of "3100" systems that are applicable
  to this question.

The contents of the PROMs are not available over the Internet network,
these PROM upgrades (for the older MicroVAX 3100-10e and -20e systems)
were typically available (orderable) through the services organization.
