Converting from Cluster to Standalone?

» close window

The Question is:

We currently have a 2 node 7740 dec alpha cluster, sharing a single system
disk.
We are going to down-size our OpenVMS
system and get rid of the 7740,s and replace
those systems with a 2100. We will attach all of our current disk drives to
that system. My question
is - What will I have to change to go from a
cluster system to a standalone system?

The Answer is :

Set VAXCLUSTER and NISCS_LOAD_PEA0 parameters to 0 to disable clustering
and to disable all cluster operations.

When you move to another class of system, clean the cruft out of the
SYS$SYSTEM:MODPARAMS.DAT file and rerun AUTOGEN to set a new baseline
of parameters. Run an occasional pass of FEEDBACK to settle in on
appropriate system parameters for the new system configuration.
