PATHWORKS client uninstall unknown devices?

» close window

The Question is:

After uninstalling Pathworks client for Windows95
and rebooting, Windows 95 displays two instances of:
Unknown Device found, and installs two unknown devices.

The Answer is :

During the testing of PATHWORKS 32, we found an instance where the
Registry was not properly cleared after the client uninstall. When
the system was rebooted, this caused an error message to be displayed,
indicating that deciocb.vxd and decshow.vxd could not be found. We do
not believe this caused any functional problems.

If you are using V7.1a and still see a problem, please let us know
what specific files are listed as not found, and what options were
  selected during the original installation.

If you are currently encountering these error messages (for the known
case) and wish to clear the associated Registry entries using RegEdit
(first ensure that you have a good (backup) copy of your Registry using
rdisk or otherwise), remove the following entries from the Registry:

        "SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Services\\VxD\\DECSHOW"
        "SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Services\\VxD\\DECIOCB"

This issue has been addressed in PATHWORKS 32 V7.1a.
