Receive failures on DE500 NIC? (network)

The Question is:

 
Mr. Wizard,
 
We are running an Alpha 1200 with OpenVMS 7.1-H-1.
We recently started to get high RECIEVE FAILURE count
(90% over total)on MC LANCP SHOW DEV /counter.
 
We had DEC replace the DE500-BA NIC and our network staff
replaced the network cable/port/hub.  Still the RECIEVE FAILURE
did not improve.  This problem was originally noticed
when our Oracle listener (SQLNET) kept going down.
 
What's next ?
 
Is there a new DE500-BA driver for OPENVMS that I
download ?
 
Is the PCI Motherboard bad ?
 
Is there a OpenVMS patch for my version ?
 
 
We are already workinh with our DEC field engineer
with this problem and just wondering if you can
shed any light on this.  It's a twister !
 
 
 

The Answer is :

 
  Please continue to work with the hardware support engineer, as
  this could be most anything from a driver problem to a problem
  with the network cabling or associated network hardware.
 
  Please check the http://www.service.digital.com/ patch area for
  the current ECO kits for various device drivers for the OpenVMS
  Alpha (the Wizard assumes) V7.1-1H1 release.
