» close window

The Question is:

I have the ucx V. 4.0 and I have the lpd service installed when a user
when somebody send a printing job the console display the next error
message:

%UCX -E-LPD_FILERROR, FILE error td_fA168alpha2_dsi_uanl.mx
-RMS-E-EXT, ACP file extend failed.

Any suggestion?... thanks......

The Answer is :

Upgrade to TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS (UCX) V4.2 with the current
ECO, and check for problems with the disk structure on the target
disk -- excessive disk fragmentation, disk structure errors, etc.
Check files created, as well as the directories that contain them,
as it is also possible that the directory itself cannot be extended.

Unfortunately, the specific error associated with the RMS$_EXT
error -- see attached -- is not available.

 EXT, ACP file extend failed

Facility: RMS, OpenVMS Record Management Services

Explanation: The requested extension of a file cannot be performed. This
message is associated with a status code returned from a file
system ACP QIO request made by the RMS file system.

User Action: The status value (STV) field of the FAB contains a system
status code that provides more information about the
condition. Take action based on this status code.
