» close window

The Question is:

Print document send from Windows NT 4.0
workstation to Vax/VMS host's print que
amazingly increases in size.
Due to this printing is very slow.

Print que is offered to workstation by
Pathworks for OpenVms 5.x, not sure about
the version.
Host's ucx version is 3.3 eco
Any suggestions to solve the problem?

The Answer is :

You are asking a question of the behaviour of the Windows NT operating
system of the OpenVMS Wizard -- the OpenVMS Wizard is not in a position
to explain the behaviour of the Windows NT print subsystem. (Particularly
not without specific details of the particular subsystem -- Postscript or
otherwise, printer type, queuing protocols, etc -- involved.)

The Wizard suspects Windows NT is including one or more fonts and/or other
information in the print file. The Wizard is also aware that various
Postscript converters/generators are not known for the compactness of
the Postscript output generated -- some are better than others in this
area, and the Wizard would recommend acquiring the latest drivers for
  your system or application.
