The Question is:

I have a VAXstation 3100 model 38, I wish
to know if i can
insert a video interface card to obtain a video signal
with a DB15 connector, I need this, because
i want to connect the VAXstation with a video
projector model infocus.
Thanks...

The Answer is :

The video connector in VAXstation 3100 is the DB15 on the back of the
system enclosure. There are three different video options used for the
  VAXstation 3100:

    - Without any add-on graphics controller, the integrated graphics
controller within the VAXstation 3100 supplies monochrome graphics
output with resolution of 1024x864 with 60 Mhz refresh rate.
      Synch-on-green.

    - With the GPX graphics controller, color 8 plane 1024x864 output
      at a 60 Mhz refresh rate. Synch-on-green.

    - With the SPX graphics controller, color 8 plane 1280x1024 output
      at a 66 Mhz refresh rate. Synch-on-green.

All of these use the same DB15 connector.

For information on getting older VAX system graphics options to function
with with commodity hardware -- particularly around the aspects of the
use of the green color connection for both the horizontal and the vertical
  synchronization signals -- the so-called synch-on-green signalling -- the
Wizard strongly recommends skimming the OpenVMS Frequently Asked Questions
  (FAQ) document.
