TCP/IP (UCX) LPR/LPD and device control libraries?

» close window

The Question is:

When trying to set condensed print on a remote HP laserjet printer via UCX
LPD, the escape sequence is being passed to the printer as text and does not
control the print characteristics.
We are using the device control library modules as documented in the VMS
System Managers Manual to insert the escape sequences.
If we set /PASSALL, the escape characters are passed to the printer and do
force condensed print but none of the printing control characters are
recognized (carriage returns and linefeeds ignored, causing line wrap
problems).

We have tried enclosing the escape sequence within the ANSI standard
extended escape sequence but this has no effect on the results.

How can we get the print symbiont to pass our formatting escape sequence
while also passing carriage returns and line feeds?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

The Answer is :

Please contact the customer support center -- there are enough different
packages and enough different components involved here that additional
  research will be required.
