Printing to HP LaserJet via DECserver 90m?

The Question is:

 
What is the maximum wire length from a DecServer 90m using cat-5 wire to an
hp laserjet 4si printer. I am recieving an error 22 at the printer after the
20th page of a big print job all the time. Small jobs print flawlessly.

  This question appears rather far afield for the OpenVMS Wizard.
 
  As an obvious first step, see if a shorter serial connection works,
  and make sure the connection is clear of any interference generators
  such as power cables.
 
  If the problem is consistently after the 20th page, the OpenVMS Wizard
  would tend to expect a problem with the printer, with the DECserver,
  or (more likely) with the flow control or associated settings.
 
  You will want to contact the customer support center for assistance.
 
  Expect to be asked the firmware version of the DECserver, as well as
  information on the HP LaserJet 4si, as well as for specific symptoms.
