Compatibility of SYSUAF and PATHWORKS files?

» close window

The Question is:

I am installing a fresh copy of OpenVMS v7.1 onto
a new disk. I am currently running OpenVMS v6.1
along with Pathworks v5.0f. If I copy the current
SYSUAF file to the v7.1 disk will it be recognized?

Also, if I copy the Pathworks account databse and
OpenVMS queue database files will these work with v7.1?

I am trying to avoid having to recreate the user, batch/print
queues and Pathworks logins and shares.

Thanks for any info.

The Answer is :

The SYSUAF, RIGHTSLIST, proxy, and associated OpenVMS database files
will be recognized, are compatible, and can be copied over without
  any expected ill effects.

The account database from a PATHWORKS V5.0F installation on OpenVMS
V6.2 will also operate with a PATHWORKS V5.0F installation on OpenVMS
V7.1. The PATHWORKS server software will need to be installed, and
then the PWRK$LMROOT replaced (overwritten) with the older contents.
