Printing; Alignment on pre-printed forms?

» close window

The Question is:

I have found the need to manipulate a predefined
print queue form in VMS by using the MARGIN= com-
mand. It seems however, that the available values
of 1,2,3, etc..., will not allow me to properly
place the print job onto a pre-printed insurance
claim. It looks as though a partial value, 1.5,
2.5, etc...., would do the job correctly. I have
tried using a partial value, i.e. LEFT=1.5, but
I get a VMS error that basically states that this
value is invalid. Is there anyway around this??
Thanks for any help...

The Answer is :

OpenVMS does not support the printing of partially-formed ASCII
  characters.

Either the form will have to be physically (horizontally) relocated
within the printer, an alternate font size (usually an attribute of
the printer or of the Postscript file) or an alternate printing
mechanism (Postscript, etc) selected , or other change.
