Configuring PC for remote printing?

» close window

The Question is:

How do I setup a print queue to print to the
user's pc lpt1 port? The pc is using TCP/IP.
Also what processor would I use?

The Answer is :

If the PC is running Linux, configure lpd.

If the PC is running a Microsoft operating system, please contact
a Microsoft Wizard and determine if this is even possible, and if
  so, how it is configured.

OpenVMS will print via lpr to an lpd client operating on the remote
system, or via a telnet connection. The necessary support for lpr/lpd
and telnet printing is available in and documented with the TCP/IP
  Services for OpenVMS package.

Other printing options -- such as printing via Microsoft SMB or via
another protocol -- may also be available.
