Remote display via DECwindows?

» close window

The Question is:

I have a digital alpha machine running Windows NT.
We have in this campus several workstations (4000-60)
I have installed TCP/IP on the workstations and exceed (a
communications/interface) program in the alpha, so I can open VAX
applications in the alpha.
I've been able to open dec-terminals, using the PCX$server utility and the
decWterminal command, however when I tried to open any application, I'm
getting an error message in regards to the display.
These messages are:
%CIS-F-TRMINIT, error during terminal initialization
or
"Can't open display"

Please help

The Answer is :

  The OpenVMS Wizard will assume you are attempting to display OpenVMS
  X Windows client applications on an X Server running in the Windows NT
  System -- what is often thought of as an X Windows application is a
  client of the X Windows Server. If so, the usual approach is to use
  the OpenVMS SET DISPLAY command. Please see the output from the OpenVMS
  command "HELP SET DISPLAY" for details on this command.

  You will also need to ensure that the TCPIP transport for X Windows is
  loaded on the OpenVMS system. For information on setting up this and
  other decw$server_transports, see DECW$PRIVATE_SERVER_SETUP.TEMPLATE
  for details.

  $ SET DISPLAY/CREATE/NODE=node/TRANSPORT=TCPIP
  $ RUN DECW$EXAMPLES:ICO
