X.25 on DECnet Phase IV? (Alpha)

» close window

The Question is:

We want to migrate our X.25 applications from our VAX
systems to an Alpha, but we can't install DECnet OSI.
What should we try next?

The Answer is :

  There is no supported way to use X.25 on OpenVMS V7.1 without also
  using DECnet-Plus.

  DECnet-Plus is the default transport on OpenVMS V7.1 and later, and
  is fully cross-compatible with DECnet Phase IV installations.

  Older packages, such as Digital X.25 Client for OpenVMS Alpha Systems
  (SPD 46.37.xx; http://www.digital.com/info/SP4637/) were not supported
  on the OpenVMS Alpha V7.1 release, and have been retired.

  Please contact the Compaq presales technical support for assistance
  with your specific X.25 network requirements, and for assistance or
  requirements involved with using the X.25 client package on OpenVMS
  Alpha V7.1.
