The Question is:

I have upgraded form a alpha running vms 6.2 to an new alpha running vms
7.0. I am encountering a problem with trying to print through lat. I can
create and print to the device on my 6.2 system but not on the v 7.0 system.

$ mcr latcp create port lta958/application
$ mcr latcp set port lta958 /node=mis_ati/port=port_1
$ copy printers.com lta958:
%COPY-E-WRITEERR, error writing LTA958:[]PRINTERS.COM;37
-RMS-F-WER, file write error
-SYSTEM-F-HANGUP, data set hang-up
%COPY-W-NOTCMPLT, SYS$SYSROOT:[SYS$STARTUP]PRINTERS.COM;37 not completely
copied
The v 6.2 system is running tcp/ip, decnet, and lat. The v 7.0 system is
running tcp/ip and lat.

The Answer is :

  Please acquire and install the ALPLAT01_070 ECO kit as a start.

  If the problem persists, contact the Compaq Customer Support Center.

  You may be asked to upgrade to OpenVMS Alpha V7.1, as V7.0 is no longer
  considered a supported release.
