Port has gone from GOOD to BAD?

» close window

The Question is:

When my DEC 7000 system is starting up I get the following
messages on the console:

PNA0: Port has gone from GOOD to BAD
PNB0: Port has gone from GOOD to BAD

What can I do to fix/get rid of these messages?

Thanks.

The Answer is :

You will want to contact the Compaq Customer Support Center or your local
Hardware support organization -- information on the specific controller
associated with PNA0: and PNB0: will be required, as well as details of
  the cabling.

This appears to be a system containing an N-port (Cluster communications
interface) device driver that is reporting a problem with the CI cabling.
This could be a cabling problem, or potentially to some other problem
  mascarading as a cabling fault.
