stalling between TCP/IP telnetsym print jobs?

» close window

The Question is:

Print Queue Stalling using UCX

UCX V4.1

Set up Print Queue with following command:

$  initialize/start/queue PRINT_QUEUE_B582_LAS -
   /owner=system /processor=ucx$telnetsym -
/on=brutus::"193.116.88.23:9100" -
   /default=(nofeed,form=hplj4000) -       /schedule=nosize

Printer is a HP LaserJet 4000 on the same subnet as the host, works fine
from any other system.

Queue seems to stall after completing each job. Recovers after some time to
continue with next job. Sometimes Stops
Can restart the queue to resolve the problem quickly.

HELP!

David.

The Answer is :

  Please see previous discussions around stalling queues. Two key
  discussions are "IP telnet print queue stalls?", and "delay between
  TCP/IP telnetsym print jobs?" -- the latter is most likely the cause.

  As for some of the various discussions of the HP LaserJet 4000 series
  printers, please see following topics here in Ask The Wizard:

    1020, 1429, 1797, 2276, 2418, 2715, 2770, 2782, 3385, 3540

  The former topic is likely the best starting point for most questions
  involving printing on these and other HP printers.
