» close window

The Question is:

Using reflection X 7.2 on my NT Workstation, I am trying to start a (session
manager)X client on the alpha server using wrq's startsm.exe via telnet
connection, transport is tcpip. I have followed wrqs install sequence to the
letter. From the Reflection
shell I have no problem logging in to the host and creating a detached
decterm pointing at my IP. When using Reflections Xclient manager and
attempting to do a remote session manager on my NT workstation the following
happens,
Iteration through the login sequence works fine I monitor the alpha with
reply/enabled and see the remote process start. The remote process is then
shutdown and an "invalid remote login request" message occurs as reported by
the security audit process. A
ll necessary privleges are enabled for the user I am logging in as.
I would appreciate any help you might offer and will provide any additional
info you might request.

Thank You Mr. Wizard!

The Answer is :

This problem likely requires more information than will be available
here -- please contact the folks that support the Reflection X server
package as a first step, and then the Compaq Customer Support Center.

Check the system intrusion database, check the audit log file for the
failing username and/or password, and check the DECwindows log files.
Also confirm that any authentication mechanisms expected by Reflections
  are available under OpenVMS DECwindows.
