DECmigrate and HIFENTRY messages?

» close window

The Question is:

Wizard

I'm installing our VAX application on our customer DEC Alpha. I use VEST to
translate our executables to DEC/Alpha images.
VEST/EXE ourapp.exe

Whenever I stop our application, I receive the following message:
%TIE-I-HIFENTRY, There was one HIF entry appended to
DSA100:[SYS1.][SYSMAINT]ourapp.exe

When I look through the help for that message, I get
"User Action: To improve the performance of the translated image,
retranslate the original image with the specified .HIF file.
VEST uses the .HIF file entries to find and translate code it
did not detect in a previous translation."

There is no indication as to how to improve performance by using .HIF files
in the HELP /VEST

Thanks for your help
