Configuring a print queue for an IP printer? (HP)

» close window

The Question is:

I am trying to set my Alpha workstation up so that it can print. I am
trying to print to a HP Laserjet MV type printer. I have started the queue
manager and tried printing numerouse times but no luck. Do I need to change
characteristics of my printer?
Do I need to do more things with the queue?

The Answer is :

The usual approach for printing to an HP LaserJet printer involves
the DCPS package (if this particular printer is a Postscript printer)
or the use of the TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS package (and the telnet
or lpr/lpr schemes) if this is a non-Postscript printer.

Assuming the latter approach, the necessary configuration documentation
  is available at:

http://www.openvms.digital.com:8000/72final/6526/6526profile_028.html#part6

If using DCPS, please see the DCPS documentation.
