Centralizing system console displays?

» close window

The Question is:

We have a very mixed enviroment using VAX en Alpha systems running OpenVMS
6.2 to OpenVMS 7.1

Is there a simple way to guide all the console information to a singel
system, so it can be logged in a file. We are currently using 26 systems.

The Answer is :

Various central console packages are available from various third-party
vendors -- at the simplest, these systems will wire the consoles to a
"concentrator" such as a DECserver and from there to a workstation for
display, or wire the consoles to hardware serial lines on a workstation.
VAXcluster Console System (VCS) is one such package -- this package has
had various names, and is now available from a third-party.
