MOUNT of disk volume shadowset hangs?

» close window

The Question is:

Config: VMS 6.2-1h3, Clusio just applied. Dual 4100 (2 500cpu, 1GB each);
each as PCI SWXCR. Each SWXCR has 2 Raid5 sets (6 spindles). These are DR0,
DR1 (on node A) and DR10, DR11 (on node B). DR1 and DR11 get mounted (and
MSCP served to the other node).
DR0 and DR10 are a shadow set. What is the right way to mount the shadow
set (after both nodes are up and running)? We tried:
SYSMAN DO MOUNT/SYSTEM/NOCOPY xxx /shad=(DR0,DR10)
but that never completes on the second node (if node A runs first, then it
never completes on node B). The shadow set seems to be allocated on the node
which was picked first by SYSMAN. There must be a better way...any
suggestions?

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Wizard will assume that the purpose of using host-based
shadowing is to mirror data across the two RAID controllers.

Please acquire and install the current shadowing (ALPSHAD) and mount
(ALPMOUN) ECO kits for OpenVMS Alpha V6.2-1H3.

If the problem persists, please contact the Compaq Customer Support
Center, as rather more information on the state of the system and
the particular state of the shadowset will be required.
