OpenVMS and Windows NT External Authentication?

» close window

The Question is:

Is it possible, or are there software products available that will allow
OpenVMS to authenticate users from a Windows NT user database?

The Answer is :

OpenVMS V7.1 and later can share authentication with a Windows LAN Manager
environment using external authentication, and a user can use the same
password on OpenVMS and on Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT.

This configuration requires the Advanced Server package (or, as it was
  formerly known, PATHWORKS).

Please see the V7.1 New Features manual for an introduction.
