Identifying a Digital Personal Workstation?

» close window

The Question is:

I recently purchased a Digital Personal Workstation 433.
After reading several answer in the wizard. It seams only the the
-au series of this model support OpenVMS 7.1 or later.

What are the specifications of the -au model, and
how can I verify if I purchased a -a or -au series?

Thanks,

The Answer is :

The Personal Workstation -a series is not supported by OpenVMS.

The Personal Workstation -au series is supported on OpenVMS Alpha
V7.1-1H1 and later, with V7.1-2 and later being prefered.

The Personal Workstation is not supported on OpenVMS Alpha V7.1
  or prior releases.

If the system has an IDE CD-ROM and not a SCSI CD-ROM, the system
will require an ECO kit for V7.1-1H2 (not available for V7.1-1H1)
or the system will require an upgrade to V7.1-2 or later.

The usual methods of identifying this or other systems is to check
the front panel label for the system, and/or to check the information
displayed by the system console when it powers up, and/or (rather less
commonly) to check the system model number on the back of the box.
