The Question is:

sub - Sharing the NT server printer to VMS server Vax3400

Dear sir
Presently we have the setup of both NT server & Vax3400 VMS server.
Is it possibble to take the print out from VAX3400 through the NTserver
were the printer is connected to the nt4 server. To do this what all the
setups to be handled. Please kindly give us the solution for the above.

Note - We have Digital Alpha with NT4 & VMS 5.4

The Answer is :

OpenVMS -- using any of the recent versions of TCP/IP Services -- can print
to remote printers via LPR/LPD and via telnet. Please see the previous
discussions here in Ask The Wizard (search for lpr and lprsetup), and also
please see the available TCP/IP Services documentation for assistance:

    http://www.openvms.digital.com:8000/

For information on configuring LPR/LPD (specifically the LPD server) on a
Microsoft Windows NT platform, please contact a Microsoft Windows NT Wizard.

Your OpenVMS version is very old, and will greatly limit your access to
more recent versions of the TCP/IP Services package.
