Clearing (Unknown) Console Password?

The Question is:

 
At the bootup console of my PW500au I try to boot to the OS and the meesage
I get is   "Console is secure.  Please login"
 
I have tried basic passwords (ie, root, 1-8, etc.) with no luck.  I have
also tried disconnecting the battery for a period of time, also with np
luck.  Is there a command at the sonsole to reset the password to nothing?
Or at least clear it from memory?

  Please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center for assistance in
