OpenVMS Upgrade on MicroVAX?

» close window

The Question is:

I am upgrading my microvax 3100/40 from VMS 6.1 to 7.2. What is the correct
rev level required to upgrade to 7.2? VMS? How can I check my rev level ?

Thank you.

The Answer is :

Assuming your configuration is using Compaq (DIGITAL) storage hardware
and peripherals, your system is likely already at the correct hardware
  revision level.

Those few specific areas -- disk firmware revisions and such -- where
revisions are central to the upgrade or operation are explicitly listed
in the upgrade and installation documentation, with instructions on how
to check the revisions. There may or may not be requirements, please
  check the upgrade instructions.

Third-party storage or I/O options may require specific revisions or
updates -- please contact the third-party for assistance.

If you wish to upgrade directly from OpenVMS VAX V6.1 to OpenVMS VAX
V7.2, please ensure that the VAXBACK ECO for V6.1 has been applied
prior to the OpenVMS VAX upgrade. Other ECOs are not required prior
  to the upgrade.
