Problems booting from CD-ROM?

» close window

The Question is:

My AlphaServer 1200 doesn't want to boot from the CD-ROM. Command used >>>
boot -fl 0,0 dka500 The system seems to restart and read the cd-rom for a
few minutes. The cd-rom light quits and nothing seems to happen. What do
you think the problem is?? Th
is is the first time that I have tried to boot from the cd-rom.

thanks,
Russell

The Answer is :

This could be a SCSI problem (termination, conflicting unit numbers,
over-long, etc), a problem with the CD-ROM drive itself, or a firmware
  or software problem.

Please contact your hardware support organization for assistance.
Expect to be asked specifics of the SCSI configuration and of the
  CD-ROM drive in question.
