DECnet MOP download fails?

» close window

The Question is:

We are booting a X-terminal from the Alpha with MOP and DAP access. Under
VMS 6.2 this works without problems. After upgrading to VMS 7.1-1H1 only the
initial loading via MOP works, the following DAP reads fail with 'File not
found' errors, although the p
ath is correct. We have tested DECNET-IV and V.
Is there a difference in using DAP protocol between the two VMS versions.

The Answer is :

DAP has not particularly changed -- check the NCP or NCL or LANCP
  setting for the download.

The usual cause of this error -- though you have checked for it in
this case -- is a missing logical name or an incorrect filename path
  specification.

The OpenVMS Wizard prefers to use LANCP (available on OpenVMS V6.2
  and later) for MOP downloads.

Please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center, as some detailed
research into the current system configuration will likely be required.
