The Question is: We have the following configuration: - 2 AlphaServer DS20 - OpenVMS V7.1-2 - VMS Cluster - Decnet-Plus V7.1-ECHO4 - UCX V4.2-21 We cannot use the Cluster Alias Feature. Is there any solution (without using a Vax or a Router ?) Thank you for your help. Regards. The Answer is : Your statement "we cannot use the Cluster Alias Feature" does not indicate the particular problem that you are encountering. The OpenVMS Wizard will assume this is a licensing issue. In this configuration, the DECnet-Plus license PAK DVNETEXT (for DECnet-Plus on OpenVMS Alpha) or DVNETRTG (for OpenVMS VAX) will be required for support of the cluster alias. Also please see: http://www.openvms.digital.com:8000/ 72final/6496/6496pro_004.html#basic_config_215 http://www.openvms.digital.com:8000/ 72final/6499/6499pro_019.html#index_x_829 Use of the cluster alias typically requires the presence of a router. (DECnet-Plus does supports host-based routing, which is useful for the cluster alias feature.)
