Mapping the SYSDUMP.DMP on the system disk?

» close window

The Question is:

What does "%SYSBOOT-I-SYSBOOT Mapping the SYSDUMP.DMP on the system Disk"
mean? We get this message when trying to boot our MV3100 with an RZ28

The Answer is :

The message means just what it says, it is mapping the specified system
dump file from the system disk -- it is possible to configure OpenVMS to
have the dump file located on a disk other than the system disk.

This message is entirely innocuous and can be ignored, assuming that you
wanted the default behaviour -- to have the dump file on the system disk.
