DECnet-Plus MOP and missing directory?

» close window

The Question is:

Do you know about the following problem ?
HW: Alpha Server 1200
SW: OpenVMS 7.1, DECNet Plus V7.1

When MOP is enabled, but the directory SYS$COMMON:[DECSERVER] does not
exist, the system crashes during boot with a fatal bugcheck.

Is there any fix for this problem ?

The reason for having MOP enabled, but no SYS$COMMON:[DECSERVER] directory
is that we have an alternate loadhost for the decservers, but we want to do
SET HOST/MOP on the Alpha.

The Answer is :

Please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center to report this.

As an obvious workaround, create the directory and/or reconfigure
DECnet MOP to use another (existing) directory.

Alternatively, use LANCP for MOP operations and disable DECnet MOP.
