Upgrade Requirements for TCP/IP Services?

The Question is:

 
What is involved in upgrading from UCX TCP/IP V2 to V4.2? Can it be done at
once or does it need to be done in stages?
 
 

The Answer is :

 
  As documented in the OpenVMS manuals, ensure you have a valid and
  current system BACKUP available before you start the upgrade.  You
  will also want to seriously consider making a BACKUP immediately after
  the upgrade completes.
 
  A direct TCP/IP Services upgrade is permitted, and is expected to work.
  Ensure that you have the current ECO for TCP/IP Services installed.
 
  If you encounter problems, please contact the Compaq Customer Support
