System load from TCP/IP V5.0 telnet?

» close window

The Question is:

Fresh install of VMS 7.2 / TCPIP Services 5.0 on a Alpha axp 150
Single node, not running decnet

Telnet in from a windows box or another vax/alpha is fine. Telnet from a
unix box(Solaris/Linux/Digital-Unix) and the number of interrupts jumps to
over 25. More telnet sessions cause the interrupts to go higher, making the
machine unusable. Rlogin,
rshell, and other network activities work properly.

The Answer is :

With these symptoms, the OpenVMS Wizard would strongly encourage you to
upgrade to TCP/IP Services V5.0A, available on the V7.2-1 distribution
and on the consolidated distribution. In the event the problem persists
with the V5.0A release installed, please contact the Compaq Customer
  Support Center directly.
