Unable to use PHONE?

The Question is:

We have a DEC 3000-600s with Open VMS V6.2. This was recently upgraded from
V 6.1.
Now, the PHONE utility from this system to other DEC systems on the
Corporate LAN/WAN is not working. Also, PHONE DIR nodename is giving an
error "Only a nodename is allowed in a directory command"

PHONE DIAL nodename::username is coming out with an error "No one with that
name is available right now", though a user with that name is logged on.

However, PHONE DIAL and PHONE DIR from other DEC systems on to this
particular one is working fine.

I have checked the OBJECT PHONE's password in NCP and UAF. Where else should
I look for a solution?

The Answer is :

Ensure that you are not using the cluster alias as the target for
the PHONE call. (This is not permitted, and is a limitation of the
design of the current PHONE image.)

One potential workaround is to copy PHONE.EXE forward from V6.1.

Please contact the Customer Support Center for further assistance.
