Record and reply interactive user input?

The Question is:

 
We have to start a 3rd party application interactively from a Powerhouse
menu every morning (no choice). Is there a way to record a terminal session
and play it back so we could schedule a job to do this?

The Answer is :

 
  Pseudo-terminals can be used as the basis for this.
 
  There may well be other commercial packages for this purpose.
 
  Obviously, a discussion with the Powerhouse support staff is in order.
