This printer is an HP Laserjet 4000 with a network card. when I print a
simple textual file, the first line starts against the left margin of the
sheet, the 2nd line starts with some characters of the left margin, the 3
2nd line starts so much far compare
d to the left margin which one does not see large thing.
the remainder of the lines is invisible and if the document is long the
remainder of the printing corresponds to blank pages. How to solve this
problem? thank you for your help!

The Answer is :

Please particularly see the attached list of topics for discussions
of the CR and LF processing within the printer, as well as confirming
that the HP LaserJet 4000 series printer firmware version is current.

As for Compaq products involved, please ensure that TCP/IP Services
V4.2 is loaded, and the current ECO is loaded.

If the HP LaserJet 4000 is correctly configured and the TCP/IP Services
version is current, please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center.

As for some of the various discussions of the HP LaserJet 4000 series
printers, please see following topics here in Ask The Wizard:

    1020, 1429, 1797, 2276, 2418, 2715, 2770, 2782, 3385, 3540

The former topic is likely the best starting point for most questions
involving printing on these and other HP printers.
