The Question is:

I am a physician at Emory Hospital in Atlanta and we use a Lab Information
System called CoPath which runs on the VAX/VMS 5.5 and uses a database
language known as MUMPS. This system is able to print reports to HP printers
across DECNet, using LAT and pc
l5 files. It can also print to a file resulting in something which starts like
 the following:

3E0p10h12v3TU0p10h12v3TU 0p10h14v6TU3BTHE EMORY
 CLINIC0B0p10h12v3TU
                            0p10h14v6TU3BEMORY UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL0B0p10h12v3TU
                       0p16.6h7v8TU

Question: What is this file type? Apparently these are printer control codes
of some sort. How can I store this file on a PC and then send it to the
printer, resulting in a normal appearing file without all of the crazy
 characters...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Answer is :

Please contact your application vendor for assistance -- much like
differing connectors used for intravenous sets or differing electrical
interfaces for cardiac monitors and cardiac defibrillators, the
assistance and characteristics and information on the interface is
best available from the particular vendor. Asking the Agilent
Technologies cardiac defibrillation support team (Agilent is formerly
part of the HP medical organization) for information on Medtronic
Physio-Control cardiac defibrillation products is obviously not the
  most fruitful approach, for instance.
